Growing up I had never wanted to be a teacher, both of my parents taught at local high schools. My mother worked in Special Education and my father worked in Independent Studies, it was something that I had never considered until I started serving with the high school youth group at my church. I discovered my love for high school age students by leading a Bible study, I realized how much of an impact I can have on students lives. Looking back I am able to think of several teachers that I have had over the years who have had a huge impact on my life, teachers who have supported, and encouraged me, teachers who I could go to if I have a problem in or outside of the classroom. It was not long after my mother passed away, that I realized that I belong teaching Special Education. My mother passed on to me the patients, understanding, and the love for students, needed in a Special Education classroom. I am currently attending Cal Poly Pomona, where I plan to get my bachelors degree in the Winter of 2010, shortly after receiving my degree I plan on enrolling the in the teaching credential program at Cal Poly Pomona.
